Our Partners

Thanks to our partnership with The Clark County Junior Livestock Auction, Clark County 4-H, and The Washington Future Farmers of America Association we have been able to help support the Clark County Food Bank for the past 10 years.

The Clark County Food Bank (CCFB) is the beneficiary of all food and fundraising through the YEAH Program. The CCFB has been the primary, countywide nonprofit food distribution organization since 1985 and is currently distributing approximately 10 million pounds of food or 8.3 million meals for individuals and families every year.  We support over 50 partners at over 120 distribution sites, along with Food Bank led programs to serve the food insecure in our community. With over 148,000 people facing hunger in Clark County, the need is great.

The Clark County Junior Livestock Auction (JLA) is a youth only livestock auction that takes place at the Clark County Fair, traditionally on the second Saturday of the fair. Youth exhibitors from local 4-H, FFA, and Grange Youth programs raise their animal projects to then show them at the fair, animals are judged by professional livestock evaluators. After the livestock evaluators establish that the animal meets established market quality standards the animal is then auctioned off with the youth exhibitors receiving the profit.

4-H is the nation's largest youth and with over 100 different projects to choose tour line of focus, from animal sciences, to Engineering and Technology, to plant sciences, the arts and many other options it really isn't surprising. At YEAH we mainly work with the Clark County 4-H groups that focus on Beef Cattle, Pigs, Sheep, Goats, Poultry, and Rabbits as those are the type of animals that are sold for meat at the JLA auction. 4-H also shares similar goals of helping the community and developing future leaders, which makes our organizations a natural fit to work together.

Washington's Future Farmer's of America Association (FFA), like 4-H, JLA, and our organization, is focused on creating future leaders as well as working to improve their community through acts of service. Unlike 4-H, JLA, and The YEAH program, the FFA program is an intracurricular organization, meaning it is a student group directly tied into the school's curriculum, with certain classes at school that have to be taken for a student to take part in their school's chapter. Another unique thing about FFA is that groups are based off of the school the student is enrolled in and not the project or interest that the student is working on. FFA is not as popular as 4-H is for youth raising and showing livestock but we are always happy to work with FFA chapters and members.
