Youth Involvement

What YOUth can do!

The best way to get involved with YEAH is to become a member of the YEAH Youth council. By doing this you, along with your fellow council members, will be making a difference in your community while learning from agricultural presenters from the community, such as representatives from Purina, Reister Farms, and BiZi Farms, at monthly meetings. Through a verity of projects, you will also gain leadership experience through acts of community service. The Youth Council is Youth-Led, Youth Involvement and Youth FUN!
Yeah also funds youth who are interested in raising animals to be donated directly to the food bank, unlike the animals that are obtained through the JLA auction, these animals can be raised at any time of the year and are what we call “winter animals.” Youth raising these animals do not need any prior experience raising the animal in order to participate in this project, just a willingness to learn and an interest in helping their community in this way. For more information about YEAH funded animals please click the YEAH Animal Guidelines button below. If you are interested in participating, please contact us using the Contact Us button below.
Youth who are not a member of YEAH and/or did not raise a YEAH-funded animal can still donate animals to YEAH for us to donate to the food bank. These animal are usually ones that, for one reason or another were not eligible for the JLA auction but still meet the standards of being fit for human consumption. If you are interested in doing this, the form is linked to the Exhibitor Donation button. Please contact us using the button below and be prepared to fill out the YEAH Youth Exhibitor Form.
If none of these options interest you, youth can also volunteer either as individuals or with their 4-H Club, FFA Chapter, or other youth group by helping to organize and participate in food drives, fundraisers, and many other activities. If this is something you, or a group you are a member of, would be interested in please contact us using the button below. Parents and group leaders are also more than welcome to volunteer in the same way. We also always have at least one member of our Youth Council willing to attend a meeting for your group to explain what YEAH is and to how volunteering works, to help your group decide if and how they would like to participate.
If you have any other questions or ideas about how you may be able to support our program, please contact us with your ideas and questions. We would love to hear from you!
