What Youth Efforts Against Hunger (Y.E.A.H.) Is…

Y.E.A.H. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting youth raising livestock as an educational project and supporting and inspiring youth community activism to alleviate hunger within Clark County. Y.E.A.H. has donated over 70,000 pounds of food to the Clark County Food Bank since 2006.

MISSION: To inspire youth civic engagement through agriculture education to alleviate hunger.

OBJECTIVE: To support youth projects throughout the year that are dedicated to alleviating hunger within Clark County. Examples of youth projects include winter animal projects; the youth raise the animal and YEAH provides the feed and processing so that the animal can be donated to local foodbanks. YEAH also works to acquire enough resources to purchase all buy back animals at the JLA auction.

GOAL: To educate youth in leadership, agricultural, and civic responsibility, while assisting the Clark County Food Bank in alleviating hunger by providing high quality food to hungry Clark County individuals and families

Program Summary:

a.) Conducts year around activities that support our local community

b.) Teaches youth leadership, community activism, and supports agricultural education c.) Supports local youth participating in 4-H and FFA animal projects

d.) Youth in 4-H and FFA programs support Y.E.A.H! through 1) fundraisers, 2) food drives, 3) raising and donating meat products

e.) Y.E.A.H. provides individuals and companies with opportunities to support our local community youth and help feed Clark County residents who are in need through 1) monetary donations 2) food donations 3) event sponsorship

f.) We are currently in the developmental stages of a pilot partnership program through a Washington State University grant to support agricultural education to disadvantaged city youth
